Our story began with a search to find out what life is all about. Unfortunately, this search outside of the will of God took us down some dark alleys where we experienced things we regret to this day. However, the beauty of coming to know the Lord on February 4, 1997, forever changed my life. The greatest decision I ever made was to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour in the Pastor’s office at Hampshire View Baptist Church. I’m eternally grateful for God placing in my life at a critical time two Godly servants who looked beyond my sinful condition as God did and opened their arms to receive me into the family of God. This transformation took those failures, regrets, and heartaches and cast them into the sea of forgiveness and mercy. We take comfort in Lamentations 3:21-26.
Soon after coming to know the Lord, we attended a teen retreat in Geiger Town, Pennsylvania. One crisp morning, while walking a gravel path at this retreat, God revealed to us how He wanted to use our lives. From there, we embarked on this journey to explore starting a camp ministry to reach people and share the wonderful promises of God. We have to tell you; we were both excited and full of fear. We had no clue of how to move forward with this incredible desire God had placed in our hearts. We can honestly say it has been a long journey filled with fear, procrastination, detours, bad decisions, frustration, missed opportunities and mixed emotions. See, when you have your own plans of how to accomplish the will of God and fulfill the desires of your heart, it will ultimately take you in the wrong direction. Just as God had to bring Moses to a point of true humility, in the sense of stripping him of everything he thought he had in Egypt to liberate his people; God said no not by your power or might. We feel God has been working in our lives in a similar fashion. I’m so glad it didn’t take 40 years.
We are forever grateful for God’s patience with us. We believe God has confirmed the time is now to push forward with His plan to build three Ministries for the Glory of the Lord in support of His ordained institution, the local Bible believing New Testament church. My life verse Philippians 4:13 gives us the confidence that we can do it through Christ our Lord and Saviour who strengthens us. Our minds and hearts are further convinced by Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” We must rely on Him to fulfill the desires of our heart. We believe as Nehemiah believed after hearing the condition and state of Jerusalem; the time is now. Our cities, communities, and families are being torn apart as people continue to believe the lies of Satan. We are in a battle for the heart and soul of men, women, and children. Is there not a cause today to fight for the lives of people? We hope and prayerfully seek to carry out the calling and mission of God that has been placed on our hearts.
We hope many will join and support us in this fight.
